I had the chance to sit in on an assessment service appointment with Lance and a recent client of his. If you’re not familiar with this service we provide, check out our recent article about it.
After some initial conversation and questions, it was apparent that this particular company was in a unique situation. While many of our clients are looking at new inventory software to accommodate a growing or evolving operation, this client was going through a downsizing process and they were needing an inventory software that was less robust, less expensive, but more specific to their changing business environment.
An important thing we remember when helping clients is that no two companies are the same. All too often we find that consultants take a “one size fits all approach” for every situation, despite a wide variety of issues and problems that often take a more creative solution to optimize.
I watched as Lance continued to pry for every detail that would be necessary in formulating a solution to their adaptive circumstances. With 16 years in the industry, we have seen just about every situation, but this particular one had only come up once or twice in our years of expertise. Nevertheless, we were able to narrow down, from an exhaustive list of warehouse management software, several that would best suit their current needs.
The thing that struck me the most about the meeting was how organic the process seemed. This was not an interrogation or checklist appointment, but rather, it was a real conversation. Both parties had an equal part in the discussion, and were simply working together to find the best resolution for the task at hand. This attitude of addressing specific needs is the reason we have helped so many clients find the best inventory software solution they were looking for.
The takeaway for me was that there are virtually no businesses that are searching for an inventory solution that couldn’t benefit from our assessment services. Regardless of your situation, there is an inventory solution for you. Finding it can be as difficult as the proverbial needle in a haystack, but with trusted experience and connections in the industry, we can simplify the process and offer a helping hand in making the transitions necessary to streamline your business process. Our goal is to make your work life both easier to manage, and more efficient in order to assure your bottom line is where it should be.
